Sorry, I’m just having the best dam time – The Hoover Dam & Lake Mead

If you’re making your way through the Arizona/Nevada state line be sure to make a quick stop at the Hoover Dam! The best viewing point is at the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge. This bypass bridge offers an unmatchable view of the dam. Be ready for a thorough car inspection by armed guards as you enter the free parking area where you can take the walkway to the viewing area. Also, be sure to bring lots of water as it is a decent uphill hike with limited shade and summer temperatures reaching 110+ degrees.

IMG_2416.JPG.jpegLake Mead scenic view is also a great stop just a few minutes from the damn. The sunset here is unbelievable and you’re just a 20 minute drive from Boulder City which holds a surprisingly delicious sushi restaurant and the famous Evan’s Old Town Grille offering “grandma’s” favorite homestyle recipes.

Now, go explore!
